Aquanomix Technology Implemented in Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

Water reuse system installed in newest Smithsonian museum


Davidson, NC- June 8, 2016- Aquanomix, a leader in water reuse technologies, is proud to announce that it has made its mark on history in its installation of a water reuse system at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). Aquanomix installed a water reuse system with a 119,000 gallon cistern and 15,000 gallon day tank with a 100 GPM filtration pumping station and 150 GPM triplex booster pump. The system reclaims groundwater, rainwater, and stormwater for use in toilet flushing, irrigation, and fountain makeup. Peak water use by the NMAAHC is expected to be 25,000 gallons per day.

The $500 million, 350,000 square foot museum, which opens September 24, occupies the last remaining space on the National Mall and is the sole national museum dedicated entirely towards African American history and culture.The NMAAHC had been in the making for nearly a century before finally being authorized by legislation in 2003.
